Sunday Funday with the Sykes

The day was absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect - overcast skies, perfect temperature and no rain in sight  - a photographer's dream! I arrived at the location on U street in Washington DC, ready to get started with my session with the Sykes -  the cutest little family of four, including two adorable little ladies, Cary and Carly, mom Danielle and dad Harry.  They were picture perfect in classic black and denim while the girls sported matching tutus and high top sneakers. It was an honor to capture this family because Danielle (@caryberrydesign) has been instrumental in my re-branding. She designed my logo, business materials and website. She rocks!

Anybody that knows me knows I love the babies, so it was only natural that I would fall in love with these two little darlings. Naturally full of energy, they made it so easy for me to capture those authentic moments that I love so much. They tickled me because they were so fascinated with my pink step stool. They couldn't get enough of it. lol. Man, you have to love how children are pleased with the simplest joys life has to offer. We should all be like that.

After some shots of the girls, I turned the camera on Danielle who totally slayed and Harry who was cool calm and collected. And of course I had to capture some mommy/daddy moments. ;)

Somebody decided to photobomb daddy's picture. lol.

Picture Perfect

I truly had a blast capturing the Skyes family. I captured so many amazing moments and had way too many favorite images in the end, but that's a good thing.

We wrapped up the session with a little lunch at U & Pizza. Officially our session was over, but I'm always in photographer mode. I couldn't pass up an opportunity to capture some more moments and I'm so glad I decided to keep the camera rolling, so to speak.

Danielle, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to capture your beautiful family. I hope I have provided you with lasting memories for years to come.

Until next time, lovelies

XOXO, Melena
